Lopaka's First Partnership: Inkplate E-Ink Screens

Some guy recently messaged me and suggested we chat.

And I’m always down to chat, especially about my favorite editor.

He told me he manufactures E-ink screens Inkplate and he liked Lopaka so much that he wants to use it instead of their old editor.

Though it works pretty badly. Even David admitted it’s long outdated.

We had a great conversation and agreed that we’ll add their library to our editor, and they’ll recommend it everywhere and add documentation. According to him, they’ve already sold about 10,000 of these screens. Sweet!

Turned out there wasn’t much to do: the main difference of their library from Adafruit is support for eight colors — either grayscale or 8 different colors, depending on the screen model.

They even sent me a couple of samples to test everything! I’ll drop a video below.
